Gillian Neild

Gillian is a communications, PR, marketing and events professional with around 20 years experience in the public, central government and private sectors including health, education, heritage, retail and full service agencies. She is currently Head of Communications in the higher education sector.

Gillian has completed the MSc Corporate Communications programme at Leeds Beckett University in addition to holding Diplomas in Event Management and Wedding Planning; Public Relations (CIPR); and Marketing (CIM).

Her current role as Head of Communications in the higher education sector within a Russell Group university includes responsibility for strategy development and operational delivery as well as communications leadership across a large health and medical school.

Before this, Gillian began her career as a journalist working for BBC Radio Five at the age of 15, moving on to present programmes for Stray FM in Harrogate shortly afterwards and for Children’s BBC at the age of 17.

Gillian attended the University of Westminster in London, studying the prestigious undergraduate programme in Media Studies.

Gillian is also a Chartered Practitioner and Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
